Aliosha Bakuridze

Was born on 17 August, 1955 in the village of Shubani, Shuakhevi region, Georgia

Education
1972 - Finished Shubani Secondary School
1974-1979 - Tbilisi State Medical Institute, Faculty of Pharmacy, a student
1984-1987 - continued study in Moscow Pharmacy Scientific Research Institute, a post-graduate student

Doctor of Pharmaceutics, Professor

Work Experience
1979 – 1982 - Head of Chemist’s shop in Shukhevi Region
1984 – 1987 - Head of Chemist’s shop in Chakvi
1987- Present - Tbilisi State Medical University, Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies:
1987 – 1990 - Assistant
1990 – 1995 – Docent
1995 – 2000 – Professor
1994 - 2005 - Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutics, Tbilisi State Medical University
2004 - Academician of the Georgian Academy of Medical Sciences
2005 - Director of Iovel Kutateladze Pharmaceutical-Chemical Institute
2006 - Vice-President of Georgian Pharmaceutical Association
At present he is the member of Academic Council and Pharmaceutical Faculty Council, Tbilisi State Medical University; Chairman of the Dissertation Board in Pharmacy
2008, 5 May – Present - Rector of Shota Rustaveli State University

Scientific Works
He is the author of over 170 scientific works, supervisor of 14 PhD theses;
Has 9 certificates and 20 patents, has created 20 original drugs that have serial production in our country. He is the author of the textbook “Industrial Technologies of Drugs” edited and published in Georgian and also the author of the supplementary textbook “Methodological Fundamentals of Making Normative-Technical Documentations at Pharmaceutical Industry”.
